PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

1.      FROM DECEMBER 2005 TILL NOW

HINDUSTAN  ZINC  LTD. (A VEDANTA GROUP COMPANY)

Worked as CSR HEAD of Rampura Agucha Mines, of Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL). HZL is the third largest zinc and lead producer in the world. Rampura Agucha Mines is the 3rd largest integrated Zinc and Lead mine in the world. Along with producing Zinc, HZL takes its social responsibility very religiously. The CSR activities are clearly divided into focus areas like health, Education, Sustainable livelihood, Agriculture and animal Husbandry, water harvesting and Infrastructure. We do all our CSR work in collaboration with district administration.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

§      Conceptualising new projects for the sustainable development of the local people.

§      Making Strategies for the implementation of Projects.

§      Dialogue with the Local and District administration.

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

§         Have made and implemented projects for 160 villages catering to a population of 5 lacs.

§         60 villages converted into replicable Models. The model villages qualify in all the development indicators like health education, infrastructure etc. and above all each model village has a Village Development committee (VDC) which takes forward the process of development in a participatory manner.

§         Have implemented a project on computer literacy for rural schools benefitting more than 50,000 children in 200 schools.

§         Facilitated SHG movement in one Block of Bhilwara district, resulting in formation of more than 200 SHGs with average membership of 15 women in each SHG. This movement involved more than 3000 women into sustainable livelihood activities

§         Have been instrumental in achieving 6 national and state level awards for HZL in a span of two years.

 

2.       FROM MAY 2003 TO NOVEMBER 2005

Worked as a FREELANCE CONSULTANT, mainly with four grassroot NGOs of Udaipur working on various development issues like Health, Education, Watershed and NRM. My job included project proposal writing, contact with funders, preparing detail workplan for implementation of projects, regular documentation and representing the NGOs at various forums.

3.       FROM JANUARY 2001 TO APRIL 2003.

 

VIDYA BHAWAN KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, UDAIPUR.

Worked as a PROGRAM OFFICER, at VBKVK, Udaipur. VBKVK is Central Government institution. It functions as a support agency and facilitates Grassroot NGOs to implement projects related to NRM, agriculture, animal husbandry and allied activities in Udaipur District of Rajasthan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

1.       Fund Mobilisation and management for VBKVK

2.       Project Management and Coordination of various projects running at VBKVK. The main projects facilitated by me were:

§         Management of Environment Resources through Community (MERC) funded by "Aga Khan Foundation”

§         Promotion of organic Agriculture in Udaipur District funded by NABARD.

§         Promotion of organic agriculture funded by "National Foundation for India", New Delhi,

§         Drought mitigation program funded by "CARE, Rajasthan"

3.       Providing technical and project management support to NGOs who were implementing VBKVK,s projects in the field.

4.       Monitoring and evaluation of project implementation by grassroot NGOs

 

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

§         Have completed the cycle of all the projects being handled by me.

§         Was able to mobilize three major projects for the organization.

 

 

4. FROM JUNE 1999 TO DECEMBER 2000:

 

NATIONAL TREE GROWERS COOPERATIVE FEDERATION LIMITED (NTGCF), GUJARAT.

 

Worked as a PROJECT EXECUTIVE at NTGCF, DAHOD. NTGCF is a sister organisation of NDDB, which mainly works on eco-restoration in eco-fragile and marginalised area though famous AMUL cooperative model.  During this phase of my career I worked intensely on eco-restoration through watershed approach. I contributed mainly towards institutional building component in a multidisciplinary team working for eco restoration of 110 villages in the catchment of Kali and Khan River basins.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

§         Worked towards formulation of strategies and better management and governance of common property resources, while working in NTGCF.

§         Worked towards evolution and strengthening of village institutions and village specific bylaws while working in NTGCF.

§         To contact, dialogue and network with Government and other agencies.

 

ACCOMPLISHMENT:

§         Formation of 30 Forest development Committees.

§         Implementation of 12 Joint Forest Management Projects

§         Implementation of Watershed projects in 35 villages of Dahod district of Gujarat.

 

RESEARCH EXPERIENCES:

1. AT SEVA MANDIR, Udaipur

Conducted a comprehensive baseline survey of a village followed by micro- planning giving feasible proposals for development.

2. AT VBKVK, Udaipur

Conducted a detailed survey for assessing the condition of agriculture and animal husbandry in four areas of Rajasthan, namely, Jhadol Block of Udaipur district; Jawaja Block of Ajmer district; Pugal Block of Bikaner district, Kailadevi sanctuary area of Karaoli District. This survey was followed by preparation of workplans suggesting improvement in the condition of agriculture and animal husbandry for all the four areas.

 

3. AT Xavier Institute of Social Services (XISS), Ranchi

Conducted a detailed survey of a village and prepared a comprehensive plan for its development.
